Abstract

The total workforce in August 2022 was 1.33 million people, an increase of 130 thousand people compared to August 2021. In line with the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK), which also increased by 6.08 percentage points from 62.76 percent in August 2020 to 68.84 percent in August 2022,
In the past year, TPT fell to 7.60 percent in August 2022 from 8.68 percent in the previous year. Judging from the level of education, TPT for Vocational High Schools (SMK) still dominates among other education levels, namely 17.18 percent.
The working population is 1.22 million people, an increase of 120 thousand people from August 2021. All business fields have experienced an increase in the number of working people. In the manufacturing sector, it increased by 48.18 thousand people; in the agricultural sector, it increased by 26.78 thousand people; and in the service sector, it increased by 58.11 thousand people.
A total of 0.9 million people (75.48 percent) work in informal activities. Over the past year (August 2021–August 2022), the number of informal workers has increased by 21.10 percentage points from August 2021, when it was 54.38 percent.
There are 39.14 thousand people affected by COVID-19. consisting of the unemployed due to COVID-19 (1.04 thousand people), BAK due to COVID-19 (4.12 thousand people), temporarily unemployed due to COVID-19 (1.75 thousand people), and working residents who have experienced reduced hours of work due to COVID-19 (31.23 thousand people).
